Midwest Warbird Fly-In/Clinic, May 13-15, 2016

Join us in Rockford, Illinois for the Midwest Warbird Fly-In and Formation Clinic. (As always, you might hear us refer to this fly-in as the “Glenn “Skids” Smith Formation Fly-In” in memory of our dear friend Glenn, a formation/airshow pilot who truly loved flying. Glenn strongly advocated for formation safety and standardization.)

Code 1 Aviation is once again hosting this popular spring event, and it promises to be educational and lots of fun!

All warbird owners and their airplanes are encouraged to attend, with an emphasis of those who want to fly formation in a safe, standardized environment. We will conduct at least 2-3 flying periods each day, with comprehensive briefings and debriefings. Formation ground instruction will be available for those who need it, and qualified FAST flight instruction will also be available, subject to instructor pilot (IP) availability. (Ample single-ship flying opportunities are also available for those not interested in participating in the formation flying.)

You'll also get to experience some great after-hours camaraderie, hangar-flying and entertainment. We're lining up a great guest speaker for the Saturday night dinner. More to come.

Note: Plan to arrive on Thursday, May 12 if you can, because the action starts on Friday morning. Sunday will be a half-day, with one period of flying, and departures after lunch.

Download the Registration form and Air Boss form here, fill them out, and return them as soon as possible.

There's a $140 registration fee that covers lunches and dinners at the hangar, hotel transportation, and also helps to defray the costs to those individuals volunteering their time as formation instructors.

We have negotiated great rates at local hotels, as well as a substantial fuel discount.

Come join us in Rockford for a great time!

TIME IS SHORT! Please contact us right away to register.
